  16. As far as I know, there are two editions of Visual C++ 4.0; the regular
  17. edition, and the subscription edition. The difference between is that
  18. the latter will get you upgrades for a whole year; for example, last year
  19. I bought the subscription edition of Visual C++ v. 2.0; that got me versions
  20. 2.1, 2.2, and 4.0.
